What is cloud computing, and how does it work

Cloud computing refers to the on-demand delivery of computing services over the internet. It eliminates the need for on-premises infrastructure (servers, floor space, storage, power, etc) and allows users to work remotely. Here’s a simplified explanation of how cloud computing works:

a) Data and and applications are stored on remote servers owned by cloud service providers, ie: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
b) Users access these resources via the internet, using a web browser or dedicated software.
c) Cloud computing offers scalability, as users can easily increase or decrease their resources based on demand.
d) It provides reliable data backup and disaster recovery options.
e) Security measures, such as encryption and authentication, protect data stored in the cloud.
